Learn moreService area
Eleven communities across Berkshire County, all run from one yard on Columbus Ave in Pittsfield. Here is exactly where we deliver, and how quickly.

Our yard sits on 260 Columbus Ave, a short run from downtown Pittsfield. That location decides the shape of our day: Pittsfield itself and its closest neighbors — Lanesborough, Dalton, Lenox, Richmond and Hancock — are usually same-day, and the farther towns we cover — Washington, Hinsdale, Cheshire, Adams and Stockbridge — are typically same- or next-day depending on how far out the address sits. We would rather tell you that plainly than promise a container by lunchtime and leave you waiting.
Every one of these 10 towns is a genuine, full Massachusetts town with its own elected Select Board — there is no unincorporated category anywhere in this state, and no county permits office to fall back on, since Berkshire County's own county government was abolished decades ago. Each community page below names that town's own Department of Public Works or Select Board office as the correct authority for a street or right-of-way permit, along with the access, housing stock and local landmarks we actually run into there.
The service area
One home city plus ten real Berkshire County towns, each its own full municipal government under an elected Select Board.
Six real towns bordering Pittsfield directly — Lanesborough to the north, Dalton to the east, Washington to the southeast, Lenox to the south, Richmond to the southwest and Hancock to the west. Most runs here are same-day.
Four more real Berkshire County towns a short drive from the yard. Most runs here are same- or next-day depending on distance.

All 11 communities from our Columbus Ave yard: Pittsfield itself, plus the real Berkshire County towns of Lanesborough, Dalton, Washington, Lenox, Richmond, Hancock, Hinsdale, Cheshire, Adams and Stockbridge. Pittsfield and its closest neighbors are the quickest, and farther towns are usually next-day.
Distance is a real cost, so a delivery to a farther town is not priced the same as one in Pittsfield. What we will not do is hide it. You get the full number on the phone before anything is booked, and it does not change afterwards unless the load goes over the tonnage allowance you agreed to.
Your own city or town — always. Massachusetts has no county government layer to route a permit through (Berkshire County's county government was abolished in the 1990s, like most Massachusetts counties), so there is no county permits office to call instead. A Pittsfield address goes through the City's Public Works / Engineering Division; each of the 10 surrounding towns handles right-of-way permits through its own Department of Public Works or Select Board office. A container kept entirely on your own driveway or private lot typically does not need a permit anywhere on this list, but always confirm current requirements with the relevant town office before placement.
After a nor'easter or a heavy wet-snow storm, and during the busiest stretch of the spring cleanout and summer renovation season, book as early as you can. Outside those windows you can usually get a container within a day or two. Active construction sites book out fastest, so plan ahead if you are working on one.
Yes, and it happens constantly with rental properties and job sites where the owner is not on site. Mark the spot with a cone, a stake or a chalk line, tell us about gate codes and any steep or narrow access, and stay reachable by phone. The driver will call before setting the container down if anything looks wrong.
Call and ask. Our published service area covers the 11 communities listed on this page, from Pittsfield through the surrounding Berkshire County towns on our list. If your address is close to that footprint but not listed, call and ask — we will tell you honestly whether we can reach you or whether you are better served by someone closer.
